In 1922, Harmon and Alice White (Papa and Granny) traveled from Snowball, AR. in a covered wagon driving a herd of Herford Cattle.  Their destination was Fort Gibson, OK. , since learning about some land from Papa’s family located in the area.  On their arrival they purchased 40 acres located off a cattle trail for $1 an acre.  They began raising their family there and continued to raise their Herford Cattle.  The couple reared 6 children on the land and were true homesteaders off this land.  In July 1948, tragedy struck the family.  Papa was on his way to a cattle market and had a car/train accident that took his life.  Granny being the strong lady she was continued with what she thought Papa would want.

In 1949, Granny had a barn built in memory of Papa.  Which still stands strong and is used to this day.  Papa always told Granny that he wanted the land kept in a White’s possession, so in 1971, Granny not being able to keep up with all the responsibilities that came with the farm, she sold the farm to their fourth child, and son, George Harmon White, SR. (my Dad).  Granny continued to live there until her death in 1983.

Daddy and Mama (George and Billie White) continued to raise the Hereford Cattle and raise their 6 children on the land.  Daddy always told Mama that he wanted to carry on the tradition of his father that the land always remain in a White’s possession.  Having always being interested in the cattle and helping Daddy on the farm, I went to him in 1976, knowing he needed a new bull for the herd.  I finally talked him into crossing the Herford with Limousin cattle.  We were able to find a 75% Limousin bull and purchased him for $1000.  From then we began crossing the Limousin and Herford breeds.  Daddy liked them so much that in 1978, we purchased our first purebred Limousin bull.

In 1982, Daddy and I purchased our first Fullblood Limousin bull and from that day forward we only purchased the Limousin breed.  This is when the Rockin W Limousin became established and are still going strong for over 30 years.

Also, in 1982, Linda and I started our family.  We welcomed our first born, daughter Leisha Ann.  In 1985, we welcomed our first son, Justin Harmon and in 1989, we welcomed our last child, son Brady Ray.    Linda and I have been married 35 years this coming June.   We have raised our 3 children that have given us 4 huge blessings.  Grandsons Trent and Trapper and granddaughters Avery and Jozie.

In 2006, Daddy came to me and wanted to sell me the place due to his age, but wanted to keep the cattle partnership alive.  We continued to do so until Daddy’s death in 2010.  Today, we still have one remaining full blood Hereford descendant from the original herd.  I have continued to raise the quality of cattle Daddy would’ve wanted and to keep the White tradition alive.
